Welcome to Aranda Primary School.
At Aranda, we are driven by a clear purpose: to build a thriving, connected community where every student feels safe, known, and supported in all areas of their development. We value academic rigour, social-emotional growth, and student wellbeing equally — because we know these elements work best when developed together.
Our school motto, Marima Ergurirai – Grasp the things that are good, sits at the heart of everything we do. It reminds us to focus on what truly matters and to take pride in the small moments of growth, kindness, and achievement. This mindset underpins our school culture, and one way we bring it to life is through our Gratitude Shout Outs.
Gratitude Shout Outs are shared in our newsletters, at assemblies, over the loudspeaker, in classrooms, and even on the school sign. They recognise students, staff, and families who make a positive contribution to our school community. Whether it’s a quiet act of kindness, consistent effort in learning, or a generous gesture in the playground, these moments deserve recognition. By drawing attention to the good around us, we strengthen the culture of appreciation and connection that defines Aranda.
Our current school priority is to improve outcomes in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). We are embedding a restorative culture and developing a whole-community understanding of SEL, so that all students build the skills they need to manage emotions, strengthen relationships, and navigate challenges with resilience. These are life skills, and they are central to the way we teach, lead, and interact every day.
Our staff are a highly capable and committed team of professionals. They work together to deliver consistent, evidence-informed teaching practices and use data thoughtfully to support every student’s progress. Strong teaching, paired with strong partnerships between home and school, gives every child the best chance to thrive.
Aranda has a proud history and a clear direction. We know who we are, what we stand for, and where we’re heading. I invite you to get in touch to learn more about the work we’re doing. I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
Warm regards,
Scott Pearce
